ICAO Aviation Green Recovery Seminar

The ICAO Aviation Green Recovery Seminar offers a holistic view of the potential opportunities for aviation to take concrete measures to reduce its emissions footprint, as it seeks to “build back better”.

The seminar will:

  • Stress the need for climate action by aviation;
  • Showcase inspiring solutions for aviation’s deep decarbonisation by States and industry building upon the ICAO Stocktaking seminar (8-11 September 2020);
  • Showcase how aviation support others reduce/avoid their CO2 emissions and cope with the environmental crisis;
  • and discuss the policies and measures that need to be in place within and outside aviation to support the sector's decarbonization.

Historical contract for the acquisition of 80 Rafale F4 by the United Arab Emirates

(Saint-Cloud, France, 3 December 2021) – In the presence of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Vice-Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, signed a historical contract with Tareq Abdul Raheem Al Hosani, CEO of Tawazun Economic Council, in charge of security and defense acquisitions, for the acquisition of 80 Rafale F4 for the United Arab Emirates Air Force & Air Defence (UAE AF & AD).

European aviation industry launches "Destination 2050" and sets a target of zero net CO2 emissions by 2050

European aviation stakeholders (airlines, airports, aircraft manufacturers and air navigation service providers), meeting within ACI Europe, A4E, ASD, CANSO and ERA, are unveiling their new roadmap to make air travel more sustainable.

GIFAS, a member of ASD, supports this initiative and is associated with the launch of Destination 2050.
