British, German and French aerospace trade associations have signed the creation of Aero Excellence International association to improve operational excellence, sustainability and cybersecurity within the aerospace, defence and space supply chain.

On 18 November 2024, the French Defence Innovation Agency (AID) and the French aerospace industries association, GIFAS, renewed and strengthened their partnership agreement. Drawing on the GIFAS StartAir club, R&T support schemes and GIFAS member space industry companies, this new agreement will improve support for changes in aerospace technology and industry, and foster synergies for both civilian and military applications. 

The French aerospace industry, represented by the French aerospace industries association GIFAS, warns of the potential risks of the French Draft Finance Bill 2025 (“DFB25”) and asserts its full support for the air transport sector.

Several of the proposed measures could have the opposite effect to the intentions voiced by Finance Minister Antoine Armand at the French National Assembly on October 21st, 2024, namely to maintain our competitiveness and trade balance, support decarbonisation and reindustrialise France, while sustaining employment. Any new taxes applying to air transport would need to be adapted in order to support the sector’s massive, ongoing investments in innovation, competitiveness and decarbonisation.

On October 7 at Delhi, GIFAS, the French Aerospace Industry Association and FICCI, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, have signed a Memorendum of Understanding to join their forces in developing the cooperation between France and India in the field of civil aeronautics.
