Global Aerospace Summit 2020 - Abu Dhabi

The Global Aerospace Summit will take place from the 28th to 29th of September 2020, at the St-Régis, Abu Dhabi. This Mubadala and EDGE summit is an invitation only event for C-level executives in the aerospace, defence, space and aviation. In 2020 there will be a strong country focus on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)

For 2020 the Global Aerospace Summit has a new theme - Insight and Integration. How will data driven insight and digital transformation enable aerospace to identify new opportunities and anticipate challenges? How will this knowledge be harnessed to drive performance, enable smarter innovation and ensure secure, sustainable integrated partnerships?

Historical contract for the acquisition of 80 Rafale F4 by the United Arab Emirates

(Saint-Cloud, France, 3 December 2021) – In the presence of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Vice-Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, signed a historical contract with Tareq Abdul Raheem Al Hosani, CEO of Tawazun Economic Council, in charge of security and defense acquisitions, for the acquisition of 80 Rafale F4 for the United Arab Emirates Air Force & Air Defence (UAE AF & AD).

The French aerospace industry will be present in force at the 2021 Dubai Airshow

GIFAS is leading a 55-strong delegation of French companies to the Dubai Airshow from 14 to 18 November 2021. They will be showcasing their know-how at the French pavilion or with their own stands. The firms include prime contractors, equipment manufacturers, SMEs and maintenance specialists.

European aviation industry launches "Destination 2050" and sets a target of zero net CO2 emissions by 2050

European aviation stakeholders (airlines, airports, aircraft manufacturers and air navigation service providers), meeting within ACI Europe, A4E, ASD, CANSO and ERA, are unveiling their new roadmap to make air travel more sustainable.

GIFAS, a member of ASD, supports this initiative and is associated with the launch of Destination 2050.
